Keep Your Timber Board & Saw Looking Beautiful and Performing at Their Best

Our handcrafted bread boards & saws aren’t just a surface to slice on they’re part of your daily bread ritual. Made from durable Tasmanian Oak and pre-oiled with Gilly’s Pure Tung Oil, each board is designed to last for years with just a little care and love.

Whether you’re slicing fresh sourdough with our recycled plastic Bread Saw or prepping for a long baking session, maintaining your tools helps preserve both functionality and beauty.

Step 1: Clean Gently (No Soaking!)

After use, wipe your board & saw down with a damp cloth or sponge using mild dish soap. Avoid soaking or submerging them in water, and never put them in the dishwasher this can cause warping or splitting over time.

Pro tip: Wipe dry immediately after cleaning to protect the wood finish and prevent water damage.

Step 2: Re-Oil Regularly

Over time, the natural oil finish can wear down with regular use. To keep your board & saw hydrated, protected, and looking their best, we recommend reapplying Gilly’s Pure Tung Oil every few months or whenever the wood looks dry.

Apply a small amount with a cloth, rub it in with the grain, and let it soak overnight. Wipe off any excess the next morning.

Step 3: Add Anti-Bacterial Protection

For added protection and a silky finish, try Gilly’s Liquid Beeswax. It’s naturally antibacterial and creates a water-repellent barrier while enhancing the natural grain.

It pairs beautifully with our Tung Oil and also works well on wooden spoons, chopping boards, and kitchen furniture.
